THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT

 The office of the president is established by section 19 of the constitution of the Society
                                                 THE PRESIDENT
SEC.19-(1) The president shall be a member from the most senior class at the time of the election, or the most senior class when there is a crash program
(2)He shall be the head of the executive council meetings and congress meetings.
(3)He shall coordinate the activities of the executive council in order to effectively achieve the aims and objectives of the society.
(4) He shall powers to refer any act of indiscipline of any executive officer(s) to the House through the Speaker.
(5) He shall have the power to give lawful directives to the members of the executive council in carrying out any of the society’s program, duties and functions etc.
(6) He  shall present or delegate to any member, the representation of the society in any engagement, save in academic programs, and shall report the proceedings of the same to the House through the Speaker within three school days of his return.
(7) He shall present the budget estimate to the House before the commencement of the fiscal year.
(8) He shall have powers to assent into law or veto bills duly passed by the House within 7 school days:
Provided where the President withholds his assent and the bill is again passed by the house by two-thirds majority, the bill shall become law and the assent of the President shall not be required.
(9) He shall be a signatory to the account(s) of the Society.
(10) He shall perform such other duties as may be incidental to his office.

QUALIFICATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT
SEC. 20 – No person shall be qualified to contest to hold the office if;
His academic performance is less than 3.0 in the overall CGPA.
He fails to pay his annual dues as at when due.
He is liable of any civil wrong or guilty of any criminal offence within or without the college, three (3) years before the time of election.
