For the position of the secretary-general we have two strong contenders, this one is a bit interesting because unlike the other cases where both candidates are from the same class, that is not the situation here. On the one hand we have Luqman Ayokunle Oyinlola from 300 level popularly known as AY and on the other hand Jimoh 'Saraki' Suleiman from 200 level who both enjoy cult like following among members of their respective classes. With both candidates having strong ties to the 400 level students all eyes will be on the 100 level students whose support could deal the deathblow to one party's aspirations and dreams and at the same time make that of the other.
This is going to be a keenly contested battle which would keep you on the edge of your seat.
DUTIES OF THE SECRETARY GENERAL
SEC. 22 – (1) The Secretary General shall keep and maintain the Society’s secretariat.
(2) He shall, on the advice of the President or at the request of the members of the executive council, call for executive meeting and Congress subject to S. 39
(3) He shall be responsible for the society’s correspondences and souvenirs.
(4) He shall take and keep minutes of all executive council meetings.
(5) He shall prepare and submit a full report of all activities of the society to the House and to the Congress before the end of each semester.
